Hijab and the respect intertwined with it.
I was speaking to a friend last night.
A few years ago, when he was younger, he was dating a hijabi.
I was pretty shocked, he’s a very nice guy but bit on the wild side and she’s just a really sweet girl - was surprised when I heard they had a history.
I asked what went wrong, why he broke up with her. He said that he had too much respect for her. That it felt wrong to think of her in a “dirty” way. He felt he wasn’t morally and religiously good enough for her, this disappointed me because it seemed he took the easier option out instead of challenging himself and getting on his deen.
Anyways, the point of this post is.. subhanAllah, the hijab really is a protection. A symbol of respect. Even those who don’t follow Islam the way in which they should, really do treat women wearing a hijab differently.
He was pretty upset as old wounds were being re-opened. He really did care for her but felt he wasn’t good enough.
Really served as a reminder for myself, and anyone else who is considering wearing a hijab. I always have shaitan’s little whispers saying ‘oh how will you get a job’, ‘who will love you’ and all these other dunya-related excuses.. but, here was this guy, admitting that of all the girls, he cared for the hijabi the most.
Challange your Iman and change for the women in Hijabi cause they are humans too, they hate to be left alone from someone she has pour her heart over. Love her for Allah, not for manly needs.
Quarrelling, Lying and Good Character
Narrated AbuUmamah:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good.
